Hahaha I can see some of you now...like WHHHHHAAAT Keishaaa??? I mean he is nice eye candy...I mean for my taste...(not really he's too much muscle).
Some are like, 'YEP!'...SOME of you are probably saying 'It ain't true.' lol And still some are bewildered and want to know where I'm going with this. I'm having fun writing, laughing as I type. I wish I was a fly on the wall to see some of the reactions on your faces at the title alone.
I chuckled when the title initially came to my mind.
Okay let me dive right in. This statement is very true. According to many definitions, the 'official' meaning of what I am getting at is this:
In The Black: (of a person or organization) not owing any money; solvent.
synonyms: | solvent, debt-free, out of debt, in credit, financially sound, able to pay one's debts, creditworthy |
Keep on reading ya'll...especially if you are of the male species..the guy's pic will disappear as you scroll. lol
So basically, in the accounting world, but in layman terms, being in the BLACK you are in profit! In the 'red' meant you were losing money - translation - BROKE!
Many people don't know this but I have been a 5 and 6 figure earner. In 2008 and in 2012. That is something I worked very hard for, and in both instances in less than 2years time. It was a blessing! But sometimes things don't go the way you want. But I tell you...once you go black you won't wanna go back. In other words, once you have made that money and had a taste of success and change of lifestyle that you've always wanted, you don't want to EVER go back in the red. And I haven't met ONE person YET, that said that if they made a great income...making 4, 5, or 6 figs from their homebased business, they would LOVE to go back to work at their JOBS.
Let me tell you. I started off with a job...My first REAL job was working for Burger King after high school in 1995...I worked my way up, and found a career. My background is in auto/homeowners insurance. I wanted to be there forever and eventually be someone's boss. But the desire to be my own took over.
I remember clearly when I had to go back to work in 2011, I HATED IT. You see, I saw what time freedom did in 2008. At my lunch break I would call any and everyone who would listen about how much I hated being there. Being there was keeping me away from living my dreams. Once you go black you won't wanna go back!
Then my business income exceeded my job income. I put in my two weeks notice...didn't have to tell me TWICE.... I remember the next morning, my pompous boss approached me and said since I was only in training I didn't need to be there. So I handed over my badge, and left the building for the last time...driving past it on the freeway screaming 'SUCKERRSS'...(not nice but my boss made me MISERABLE ya'll). I felt FREE! FREEEE!!! When I started making the income the average person couldn't grasp, I started to see things A WHOLE OTHER WAY. I wanted to help more people EXPERIENCE this! It was the BEST feeling I can't even BEGIN to describe:
- Being able to pay ALL your bills, and not FROWN at the 'leftover' money for the month.
- Making big payments towards DEBT.
- Being able to help people you love.
- Being able to tithe with more confidence (keepin it real).
- Paying for unforeseen instances without stress.
- Being able to say YES when your kids want (and earn) those things they always want.
- Seeing your bank account grow.
- Waking up when you got done sleeping, and sleepin when YOU got done (minus alarm for kids school).
- Dancing to the beat of your OWN drum.
- Having time to HELP your teammates without the stress of going to WORK. For SOMEONE ELSE.
- Going on vacation and have more than spending money! And go home without being BROKE from vacation.
- Not falling under the category of 'broke-after major-holiday' spending.
But the thing that REALLY stood out is I wanted soo bad for EVERYONE to live how I lived and be HAPPY and stress free, financially free, boss-free... I would think of the zombie and grumpy looks on the faces of my co-workers. How people stressed during lunch to get back to their desk on TIME. How I was monitored...I wanted to FREE people from ALL OF IT. Once you go black you don't wanna go BACK!!
I am excited about what I do. I love business. I love being
an entrepreneur. I love building my own empire. Love working from home. The desire to do me, and do my own thing.
Not ask
permission from a boss to pee, and essentially being handed a check of what
they feel I'm 'worth' didn't sit well with me. I wanted MORE. First thing I had to do was change my
MINDSET. Being an EMPLOYEE is different from being an ENTREPRENEUR. There is a
comfort in knowing you're getting a guaranteed check with your job. But no
comfort in knowing I will be there for over 20yrs and still making the same b/c
of inflation.
Though many of us in business may work for someone until our
business exceeds that...to have that financial and time freedom is our dream. You deserve it and that's the life we are given to live. We aren't supposed to be poor, broke, busted and disgusted. We weren't designed that way. Ask God.
So do what you have to...but live YOUR dream too...because I'm TELLING you when you experience that type of freedom....once you go black you WILL NOT go back...and oh yeah...that goes for me too. HAHA.
