The Mini Entrepreneur - Like Mother Like Son...Sorta
He gets it from his mama...sorta.
My son took initiative and went around the neighborhood to ask neighbors (complete strangers to him) to purchase goods for his school fundraiser.
Remember when WE did it? In the 90s? We got what we thought was good back in the day...but today's kids get stuff that REALLY gets them motivated to do the tedious task of going door-to-door. In California heat. At 4pm.
Well...my son came home with ZERO, NADA, ZILCH orders after being out about an hour. He stumbles in and with the look of defeat and says "I'm discouraged." I asked him why. He said, "Either they aren't home or they're saying no."
I took this as an opportunity to remind him of what I go through on a daily basis. The people not home in MY world are:
The ones saying no are either saying 'not right now' or they are saying NO, OR they are trying to pitch me into THEIR deal instead.
I also reminded him way back when...when I made tons of travel flyers for a travel party I was attempting to host. I did a lot of online marketing, and I wanted to get good at belly-to-belly, face-to-face. So. I was told that Walmart ALWAYS has people coming in and out. So, we went on to Walmart, in the smoldering heat in ATL, July/Aug of 2007. I told the kids to sit on the bench...I attempted to hand out flyers. Admittedly I didn't try hard, but blamed it on the darkening skies and rain. So we started to drive home and it cleared up.
Then I remembered I was told, THE MALL. The mall ALWAYS has people coming in and out.
So on we went to the mall. I stood outside the entrance asking people to take a flyer. I was getting
Fifteen minutes was all I needed when I gave up. I scooped the kids up, rushed to the car and as soon as we settled inside, I broke down.
Cried.
Like a baby.
In front of my kids.
I couldn't do it. It was so hard in my eyes. And my son, who, at the time was only 6 YEARS OLD. Wise since birth. Said to me.
"Mom, don't cry. If they don't want to take your flyer, it just means they really don't want to make any money!"
He made my day.
Fast forward, today, age 13 years old. Sitting in front of me with the look of defeat, while I explain what I go through in the industry. I told him that hearing no, does not stop the party. It's part of the process.
After relaxing (and probably cooling down) he decided, WITH enthusiasm, to go back out again. His cousin went to support him. I made sure he exuded confidence, as that's a factor. I listened to his spiel. He was ready to go, and didn't come back until it was almost dark.
He arrived with GREAT NEWS. He had SIX ORDERS. SIX!! I didn't even hit up my 'family and friends'. He went totally 'cold market' and got SIX ORDERS! And he said he's not done, he's going back out tomorrow!
He went the extra step I DIDN'T take that day in 2007, but he's learned a lot. And I think that lil guy is gonna be mama's helper really REALLY soon! I'm proud of him. I may even go ahead and let him have Instagram he's been asking about.
He is now practice-pitching me with his cousin, and he's got charm. And is hilarious. I see him doing a lot more. He's so witty, I love it. I wish I was recording this right now. Oh no...now he's doing most...someone come get this boy.
OH yeah...and my shameless plug. If you are INTERESTED in helping him make a goal to get a bigger and better prize, please contact me and I will help you place an order for him :) :)
Like mother, like son. :) :)

I took this as an opportunity to remind him of what I go through on a daily basis. The people not home in MY world are:
- Folks not answering their phones after they tell me to call them at a certain time.
- Following up and getting ignored...especially on Facebook (FB tells on you now when someone sees your message)
- Folks saying they PROMISE to show up at a meeting and are a NO-SHOW. NO-CALL. NO-GO.
The ones saying no are either saying 'not right now' or they are saying NO, OR they are trying to pitch me into THEIR deal instead.I also reminded him way back when...when I made tons of travel flyers for a travel party I was attempting to host. [VLOG] You Are Only Alone When You Isolate Yourself - Don't Do It!
I made this video earlier this month...as part of my self-reflection - if you haven't seen the video on that yet watch it here - I was addressing some of my shortcomings...sometimes when we dig deep, we aren't ready to hear the truth about us...but in doing that we set ourselves free from bondage, stop the never ending cycle, better ourselves and then go out in the world at our fullest potential.
But first we have to be REAL with OURSELVES before we can expect others to be real with us...don't get it twisted, this is not saying we are to take disrespect, but we MUST love on ourselves, and continue to improve to be who God made us to be.
That being said, one of my shortcomings is isolation. I'm not completely out of that...but I work very VERY hard NOT to do it...it doesn't do any good. My own SON, who at the time was 9yrs old, told me this.
Please watch this video...and please comment, share or like...but DEFINITELY share with someone you think could use this. Nothin fancy, just me speaking from the heart. Hope this resonates and trust, I'm taking my own advice. <3

Keisha Monique Speaks - My Feelings on Network Marketing
KEISHA MONIQUE SPEAKS - MY FEELINGS ON NETWORK MARKETING
HOW IT ALL STARTED
I'll give you the short version of my long story. lol I had my first MLM 'bug' when I was working for corporate...I have always been kind of bossy, and knew that whatever I was doing I was going to be leading. My first job was at Burger King straight out of high school. But while there for the 2.5 years, every time I got paid, I was building up my 'corporate career' wardrobe. Because I already KNEW I wasn't going to be there forever.
And 2.5years later, I landed my first temp job, which led me into a permanent position . A brand new career in insurance; specialized in Auto Underwriting & Claims/Homeowners Claims. While there, I wanted to get all these credentials under my belt so I was marketable. So it was easier to promote; so I could slide into higher paid positions and eventually management.
I joined Toastmasters not as just a member, but as Vice President of Education; started taking insurance courses, started to volunteer with United Way, volunteering if they needed me for overtime; volunteered to expand my job description, job shadowing...you know, the whole nine. One thing though in corporate though....if I saw shenanigans, it didn't sit well with me and I made it known...professionally of course...to which management didn't like too much. They wanted you to shut up. Do your job...let them love on the slackers that were skating through and kissing ass every day...and if you went against that, they were against you. So...despite all the things I was doing RIGHT, I was not being recognized. I was being passed up for promotions. I kept it moving. I shut up. And did my thing and finally got promoted.
NOT FULFILLED
But I STILL wasn't satisfied. And started doing research on ways to make money online. FreeLife was my first MLM...though I didn't take it seriously. That lasted like...a blink. And I was spending money on programs that showed how to make more money but I was spending more money instead of it building my bank account...and put our household in a bind..so I had to STAY at my J.O.B.
My career ended when we got orders to Germany (I was a military spouse back then)...and after the first 3yrs, I couldn't find a job. I wanted to contribute to the household. I wanted to go shopping dammit. All this sacrificing b/c of one income did NOT make me happy. So I started my first MLM, Melaleuca (are you stil not allowed to say their name? LOL)..and the rest is history.
NETWORK MARKETING - YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS
I recently had a brief talk with my sponsor and a close friend. Success does not come easy. You hear the saying, if it was that easy, everyone would do it. Too many talk about wanting better, wanting change, wanting financial freedom, less struggle, but when it comes down to getting to the nitty gritty, actually DOING the things to MAKE those changes, most fall back. Some fight for a while and then quit when it doesn't happen fast enough...some just are complacent with their current situation and not tired enough to do something about it. Some just talk to appease you.
I have been in the industry for a very long time and it came with success but it also comes with failures. I truly believe that without failure you don't fully know your strength...it also shows us about ourselves...how we react AFTER the failure.
This business is in me to my core...even when I get everything from 'you're too soft for this industry' to 'take your skills and get a REAL job' to skepticism and rejection to downright crickets.
But I've been down the road of success and see what has done for me and my family. I've seen the difference of working for someone else vs working for myself. It is not EASY. Only the strong survive, only the ones who REALLY get tired of saying it, and really DOING it get to where they want.
WHY I LOVE NETWORK MARKETING
It's rewarding, you build awesome relationships for life, get to travel, can wake up when done sleeping. Beat to your own drum and not the boss's. If you have a passion/nonprofit/store front you want to open, you can do the things we want to do without stress. The feeling, the rewards, and the people it helps outweigh the sweat and tears and discipline and bad days we have to put forth...bc at the end its worth it. And those are the kind of people I'm looking for in my business. Contrary to belief, I don't want everyone. Just those that want to go as hard as I do. This is why I don't quit this industry. Its a beautiful thing when you reach that goal you set for yourself.

TELEX-FREE Files For Bankruptcy So Here Comes The Vultures!
TelexFREE Files For Bankruptcy..Now Here Comes The Vultures!
Mmmhmm yeah I said it!
*DISCLAIMER* Before you put your defenses up, read the whole blog to understand my angle.
I was shocked when I woke up and on my Facebook newsfeed saw that TelexFree filed for bankruptcy.
My heart skipped a beat because one, I know a couple people personally in that business. Two, because one of my friends knows someone that was making 5-figures a month with that company and excited.
But it made my heart heavy because I have experienced first hand, what its like to believe in a product and/or service, go hard, make a living, focus on THAT thing...and then beyond your control, and without your knowledge...the company shuts down and you are left to scramble. NO one can begin to imagine what someone in the company is going through, until you've walked in their shoes.
To those on the outside looking alll up IN their grill right now...
HAVE COMPASSION.
One thing I learned about that experience is just HOW UNprofessional some of these so called 'gurus' and 'humble leaders' and their followers become. There is no compassion. All of a sudden there's a 'rescue' plan. All of a sudden those people who were making a living with Telex FREE company are gonna be dumb. Accused of being a sucker, being born every day.
Then the MLM haters come out of the woodwork too. Instead of minding their own and doing their thing they have their perfect 'I told you so' speech READY, boy! They are soooo EXCITED to just show how MLM is such a SCAM and it's the person's fault for even working that company. They just can't contain themselves. Sad.
Then the MLMers who FAKE care, JUST so they can get another sign up.
Oh hey Sally. I have not said a word to you since you never joined my company. Been at least a year or 5. But I see your company went down, how are you girl? Are you okay-anyway, here's my link! Join so you can get RRIIGHT back on your feet in NO time! Forget that I never stayed in touch, didn't really give a damn about you, and secretly wished you failed. But we got your BACK Sally, we will take care of you...'
Please! Go somewhere with that people! REALLY?!? And really take a moment to actually READ what happened and not just see the title and run with it. Click here for the full article on TelexFree Filing Bankruptcy
Some of ya'll won't feel me on this because you are one of the ones I'm talking about. You don't have any interest in the people who have might lose big..or it never happened to you...yet. People can say a lot of things and talk a lot of smack, until it happens to them.
Being on the end of one who lost a 5 figure income practically OVERNIGHT, with that being my SOLE source of income..my livelihood for my family, its a LOT to deal with and have to react to in a short amount of time. And the last thing we want is people shoving business opportunities down our throats, and not being sensitive to the situation.
Do you realize, that those who have this income as their ONLY income, NOW have to make quick arrangements? The bills don't stop. People need to eat. Family obligations don't end. Not only that, the mental and emotional IMPACT it takes on people who are in THIS particular situation can vary. Some people bounce right back (and just MAY join your business), while others go into deep depression..or worse. Some leave MLM altogether.
Then HERE COME the insensitive jerks, that say Oh! You just lost it all, come join me! When this happened to me, yes I was trying to figure out what to do next. But my IMMEDIATE thought WAS NOT...OH boy, my company shut down! Okay let me callvulture Random Randy and tell him I'm going to join HIS business...never mind I don't even LIKE the product or service, but yeah I need money so that's what I'm gonna do! Of COURSE this does not apply to everyone! Those who are top earners etc...with a following can just flock to the next thing with no trip ups. That happens, and its normal!!!
NO. We are trying to make arrangements. We are looking at what we can keep and what needs to go. Cable, goodbye, Netflix it is. No more landline, just our cell phone,... crap our cell phone...lets see if we can get a cheaper plan.....Daycare bill is coming, gonna see if Sitter Stacey can take them next month for cheaper...Gotta start getting groceries and cut down on eating out from 5 days a week to 2...or not at all. I have to tell Johnny the bad news about his tuition...How much money is in the bank, how long can we survive before the struggle really begins? We are talking to people we already know and trust about a possible other business, and want to make sure we have the funds to pay for it.

ON THE FLIP SIDE
You have the 'statements' from these leaders who say:
Then there's the rebuttal:
Then SHAME people when they do work more than one, accusing them of being unfocused. SMDH
Sooo...you have a huge amount of new people in the business looking at these leaders for guidance. So you have some that only focus on one...and God forbid in a company that folds...then the others have multiple things...and looked down upon as not focused, no credibility.
Who's even RIGHT??
Look I'm not expecting everyone to jump on the okay bandwagon..I just wanted to shed light to this whole hypocrisy, the pettiness, in this industry. And to those networkers looking to increase their checks by preying, YES PREYING on people's vulnerability, look beyond your next payday, and actually give a rats ass about what some of these people may endure BEFORE you come at them with your pitch. And you never know! When they are ready they JUST MAY JOIN YOU! What?
And if there are any TELEXFREE reps that do make it to this blog and read this...just know that I KNOW how it feels, I've been there. No shameless plug, no JOIN ME crap, just lil ole me in your corner and that I pray that you recover in whatever way is best for you EVEN IF that means you DO find another business opportunity! One networker supporting another. Much success and this just a setback preparing you for a MAJOR comeback!

TeleFREE A Ponzi Scheme? Wow!! Yeah I feel a little bit of deja vu...but I still maintain, that those who thought they joined a business making an honest living are still going to be hurting...I would definitely encourage those...as I have done MYSELF, to do research on illegal pyramid schemes and ponzi schemes..so that we are better educated and equipped to see the signs when an opportunity is brought forth. Regulators are not playing around these days!

You have the 'statements' from these leaders who say:
- You're not really a leader if you are in more than one deal.
- You need to FOCUS.
- It doesn't make sense to earn pennies from many when you can earn dollars doing ONE thing.
- Stay where you are, so your efforts don't go in vain.
- FOCUS acronym (basically do one thing til successful then add another),etc..
Then there's the rebuttal:
- It's OKAY to have more than one stream of income.
- Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
- You aren't smart if you don't have more than one stream coming in.
- Real leaders have more than one stream, having their money work for them.
Then SHAME people when they do work more than one, accusing them of being unfocused. SMDH

Dating - Signs That Show He Don't Want Your Ass
August 22nd will mark 2yrs since my divorce. I was with the same man for 16 years. What does this mean? My marriage failed but over the years I have had a chance to not only learn more about how we BOTH contributed to the failure, but able to talk it out, learn more about ourselves, move on and....*GULP* DATE AGAIN.
In learning about OURSELVES we learn our likes and dislikes when we get back out into the dating scene....because we've been there, done that. But guess what? You aren't the only one. The men that come into your dating life, are deciding the same things when they meet you too.
I will admit that when I got back out into the dating scene, it was met with a LOT of resistance. i went on a few dates, tried the dating site thing, learned a lot. I trulybelieved still believe, that the RIGHT one will fall into our laps. Not literally...but at the right time, God will place THE BEST person for you. Not the PERFECT one, but the one FOR. YOU. And if our spiritual eyes are opened, and we are paying attention...we won't miss it when he presents himself.
So in the meantime, your hardened heart has softened, and you may be ready to date. And even ready to start anew a long-term relationship. I won't go into what we need to know about ourselves.. in this segment. What I want to do now, is to save you from confusion, games...and even heartbreak...Even though it is 2014, the same stupid games are still played by men...just like our high school days. And age does not matter. It is just a number. Maturity level is where it's at. Women, we are not out of the woods either, but THIS is about the men.
So while you are enjoying the dating scene, and you meet a potential and may THINK he is the 'ONE'...here are some tried and true signs he does NOT want to go any further than a good time at the moment: Some are easy to spot, some are very, very subtle, and you may not realize it until you become in tuned to the person, and with yourself.
He keeps his cell phone attached to him like white on rice. - Most people have cell phones. Fact. Most people text. Fact. Everyone practically keeps it on them. Fact...but even a phone user will put the phone down, away, leave it be when not in use or in the presence of someone he's into. But if he keeps his phone near and dear to his heart, not just to take a dump, but to pee. Holds it captive during sleeping hours, keeps you from seeing the screen even if you are innocently walking by without regards, strategically makes SURE you don't see a thing (and thinks you don't notice but you do)...he's hiding something. Don't make any excuse for it. TRUST. He wants somebody else too.
He only shows affection in private. - You're out and about. You're enjoying the atmosphere, the people, the place..sitting down together doing nothing at a park, sitting at a friends house, looking over a pier, at the movies...skating with love songs playing...anything that would trigger a NORMAL couple to do anything from a peck on cheek, holding hands, a hug, a love tap, squeeze shoulder, some kind of physical touch. But he doesn't do those things. Only when you're in bed. Girl, men like affection just like women do. Don't get it twisted. If he doesn't do ANY kind of touch, he DON'T want your ass.
He does not look at you or flirt with you. - What do you mean Keisha? Have you been around a person you're into, or into you? What do you do? You are always looking longingly at them..when they pass by you, you by them...when you enter the room in their presence. Sometimes you do it on the sly, so do they. Their eyes usually lights up, or looks up to make direct eye contact...if you are taken by each other, the eye contact will last...a few seconds longer. You may even blush. If he is not into...those things will not happen. PERIOD. Only when he's conversing with you.
His female friends won't know who you are to him. - One of those unspoken rules, is if a man has close female friends, its only right to introduce you to them. Ya'll don't have to be buddies suddenly...but that gesture alone will let you know he is serious about you. He wants you a part of his world and to meet the people important to him, male AND female. But if he's calling you his 'friend' when you KNOW you guys are more than that...or you hear about these women but haven't met ANY of them. Red flag. Take heed. He don't want your ass.
...As a matter of fact, he still entertains them - I don't know about ya'll but that's a deal breaker. Anyone can say anything now days. But actions always trumps words. But if he has a string of exes...1 or more..and they still want him, and he DOES NOT set them straight out of respect for you, and the relationship you two are building, run and run faster..the opposite way. They could be his 'just in case' you two don't work out. These women could also be chasing him, and he...likes it. Whatever the story with them, he's not ready to give them up...and he's not THAT serious about you...keep your options open, because he don't want your ass.
Having sex? Not really? Hmmm... - If you two have decided to go down this road I URGE YOU...to do it with extreme CAUTION. I have been with someone where the chemistry is off the chain. If you have experienced it, its unexplainable. Men are visual and they are also horndogs, for lack of better words. They love sex. lol It is what it is. When they are into the one they are with, they want it. All the time. Anytime. (except during sports season). Any opportunity arises, there they are ready to go at it again...if he is into you. You don't even have to do much to get him aroused. Or do the 'thing' you know 'gets him going'. If you are in his presence...and you go, 2, 3, 4 or more days and he is not trying to get it...he don't want your ass. Now...to be fair..some men may not have a high sex drive. Some may suffer from a dysfunction...BUT even if that's the case, they will show you physically in other ways in the bedroom. I won't go into rated R...but if he is not reciprocating...or not touching you at all...or not trying...or shows zero interest...he's not attracted to you physically/sexually. He don't want your ass.
No acknowledgement - You Don't know WHO you are: So you guys have been dating for a while...you have decided to be 'exclusive'...but yet will not call you his woman, his lady, his 'boo', girlfriend, his special one...or anything that indicates he's all about you and him, he don't want you like that. When couples become serious its because they both are on the same page, and even looking at going to the next relationship level. Have you ever met anyone who said they were just a friend and then went from friend to wife? Somebody's lying and, really...it should be friends, courting (officially together) and then marrying if that's what you want. If you are together, YOU WILL KNOW. There will not be doubt. He doesn't have to announce it to the world, but those who know you both will know you two are a couple. You will need to have that talk. If he addresses you as friend, 'biz colleague' 'lady friend' or even worse 'cousin'...RUN. FAST.
He doesn't even BLINK when he sees you being sexy. No compliments. - Again, men are visual. Have you ever put on something cute? And got compliments? Or dressed sexy for him because you love to look that way for him? When you do he either: stops in his tracks, does a double-take, start talkin' naughty, intimate things, tells you, stare, a lot of non-verbal stuff goin on. So, you put on sexy music, light candles, wear stilletos, you wear fishnets, wear his fave t-shirt, a button down shirt to reveal little cleavage, a summer dress, your skin is soft, you smell great...and he says and does...NOTHING..NO..REACTION. He don't want your ass.
You pour your heart out. He pours...well...himself a drink maybe. - I don't have to tell you what you already know. COMMUNICATION IS EVERYTHING. Now when we understand the language between men and women...women love to talk. And talk. Annnd talk some more. Men? Say a lot in very little words....but when you have a man that's into you? He STILL won't talk as much as you, BUT he WILL express himself. Don't believe the okey doke. HE WILL. If you are constantly trying to figure it out, and you are expressing your feelings, and you are addressing concerns, and letting him know how you feel, repeating yourself, and talking, and talking, pretty much fending for yourself, talking TO yourself ...and he does not reciprocate at all...(I'm not saying he will say I love you)..he does not communicate in return, does not shut down any concerns, doesn't have dialogue in the area you are pouring it out, he's avoiding what he really wants to say. He ain't that into you and he don't wanna hurt your feelings...he may want to let you go, but not ready to do quite give THAT up yet either. So he'll appease you in other ways to keep from having any 'talk' with you about you both. Follow your instinct.
DON'T IGNORE THE SIGNS. Some of ya'll won't believe me, but if you ask...and keep your spiritual eyes open, GOD WILL REVEAL stuff to you BEFORE you get in too deep with whoever you date. You WANT to know He's giving you HIS BEST. If not, TRUST He will let you know before it's too late. It is up to you to be obedient, even if everything 'seems' to be going GREAT at that time stuff is revealed. Do not tread lightly on it. You want so bad the idea of that person, that you are in denial when they do the opposite...you continue to hang around thinking if you show them your awesomeness long enough they will come around. The wrong one will never get it. Sorry, he will not come around, no matter what you do. RUN before it's too late and thank God you listened. lol
You can be the top Queen B of them all...you see how beautiful Halle Berry and many other celebs that get cheated on are...you can do everything and be a good thing to him...if he don't want your ass, not into you, or not ready to give up the games, his options, the single life...ALL OF THOSE THINGS YOU DO FOR HIM WILL NOT MATTER.....YES...even cooking for him 6 times a day...or being a freak..it will lengthen the time he deals with you for a spell...but most people can't live a lie forever if they are any kind of human being...and everything starts to break down.
So women...save yourself the trouble...date. HAVE FUN. Date different types. Don't give your all to someone when they are showing signs that they don't want what you have to offer. Keep your options open...the right one for YOU, again, not the PERFECT one...will put in work. You will know it.
He will go out of his way to make you his. He will scream from the rooftop you are his. He will be PROUD to call you his woman...(some) will want to show you off...he won't get enough of you, even though you may not fully understand why...he will want to protect you and do everything to make you smile. He will give you compliments, won't want to keep his hands off you, he will call you consistently to no end, he will want to hang out with you more than normal. It ain't about money but if you are hurting, he will come through for you...he may even buy some stuff for you...just because. He remembers tiny details.. You will catch him looking at you in that 'way'. Intimacy is not just about SEX with him...when you do have sex (if you decide to go there) it will be a deeper connection than penetration. He will pray WITH you...he will embrace and love God with you, he will challenge you to be the best you, .HE WILL TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN YOU and who you are and what makes you tick. He will keep you close to his heart just like he would his mother and/or daughters if he has them. And he does these things because he WANTS to, and WANTS you. You won't have to GUESS whether or not he wants your ass!
I can speak on it because I have been on both ends. I have dated/been in relationships with both types. The best advice I got is not to shut yourself out from love. It may be a hard pill to swallow at first. Take it as a grain of salt. Keep dating...or not. Enjoy you. Be HAPPY. Love YOURSELF. Each relationship or dating experience is helping you prepare for 'the one' AND will help you smell BS a mile away before you see it. Never compromise YOU..let go of the anger once you realize there's NOTHING wrong with YOU. At the right time...the right one WILL want your ass. :) :)

Once You Go Black, Won't Wanna Go Back
Hahaha I can see some of you now...like WHHHHHAAAT Keishaaa??? I mean he is nice eye candy...I mean for my taste...(not really he's too much muscle).
Some are like, 'YEP!'...SOME of you are probably saying 'It ain't true.' lol And still some are bewildered and want to know where I'm going with this. I'm having fun writing, laughing as I type. I wish I was a fly on the wall to see some of the reactions on your faces at the title alone.
I chuckled when the title initially came to my mind.
Okay let me dive right in. This statement is very true. According to many definitions, the 'official' meaning of what I am getting at is this:
In The Black: (of a person or organization) not owing any money; solvent.
| synonyms: | solvent, debt-free, out of debt, in credit, financially sound, able to pay one's debts, creditworthy |
Keep on reading ya'll...especially if you are of the male species..the guy's pic will disappear as you scroll. lol
So basically, in the accounting world, but in layman terms, being in the BLACK you are in profit! In the 'red' meant you were losing money - translation - BROKE!
Many people don't know this but I have been a 5 and 6 figure earner. In 2008 and in 2012. That is something I worked very hard for, and in both instances in less than 2years time. It was a blessing! But sometimes things don't go the way you want. But I tell you...once you go black you won't wanna go back. In other words, once you have made that money and had a taste of success and change of lifestyle that you've always wanted, you don't want to EVER go back in the red. And I haven't met ONE person YET, that said that if they made a great income...making 4, 5, or 6 figs from their homebased business, they would LOVE to go back to work at their JOBS.
Let me tell you. I started off with a job...My first REAL job was working for Burger King after high school in 1995...I worked my way up, and found a career. My background is in auto/homeowners insurance. I wanted to be there forever and eventually be someone's boss. But the desire to be my own took over.
I remember clearly when I had to go back to work in 2011, I HATED IT. You see, I saw what time freedom did in 2008. At my lunch break I would call any and everyone who would listen about how much I hated being there. Being there was keeping me away from living my dreams. Once you go black you won't wanna go back!
Then my business income exceeded my job income. I put in my two weeks notice...didn't have to tell me TWICE.... I remember the next morning, my pompous boss approached me and said since I was only in training I didn't need to be there. So I handed over my badge, and left the building for the last time...driving past it on the freeway screaming 'SUCKERRSS'...(not nice but my boss made me MISERABLE ya'll). I felt FREE! FREEEE!!! When I started making the income the average person couldn't grasp, I started to see things A WHOLE OTHER WAY. I wanted to help more people EXPERIENCE this! It was the BEST feeling I can't even BEGIN to describe:
- Being able to pay ALL your bills, and not FROWN at the 'leftover' money for the month.
- Making big payments towards DEBT.
- Being able to help people you love.
- Being able to tithe with more confidence (keepin it real).
- Paying for unforeseen instances without stress.
- Being able to say YES when your kids want (and earn) those things they always want.
- Seeing your bank account grow.
- Waking up when you got done sleeping, and sleepin when YOU got done (minus alarm for kids school).
- Dancing to the beat of your OWN drum.
- Having time to HELP your teammates without the stress of going to WORK. For SOMEONE ELSE.
- Going on vacation and have more than spending money! And go home without being BROKE from vacation.
- Not falling under the category of 'broke-after major-holiday' spending.
But the thing that REALLY stood out is I wanted soo bad for EVERYONE to live how I lived and be HAPPY and stress free, financially free, boss-free... I would think of the zombie and grumpy looks on the faces of my co-workers. How people stressed during lunch to get back to their desk on TIME. How I was monitored...I wanted to FREE people from ALL OF IT. Once you go black you don't wanna go BACK!!
I am excited about what I do. I love business. I love being
an entrepreneur. I love building my own empire. Love working from home. The desire to do me, and do my own thing.
Not ask
permission from a boss to pee, and essentially being handed a check of what
they feel I'm 'worth' didn't sit well with me. I wanted MORE. First thing I had to do was change my
MINDSET. Being an EMPLOYEE is different from being an ENTREPRENEUR. There is a
comfort in knowing you're getting a guaranteed check with your job. But no
comfort in knowing I will be there for over 20yrs and still making the same b/c
of inflation.

Though many of us in business may work for someone until our
business exceeds that...to have that financial and time freedom is our dream. You deserve it and that's the life we are given to live. We aren't supposed to be poor, broke, busted and disgusted. We weren't designed that way. Ask God.
So do what you have to...but live YOUR dream too...because I'm TELLING you when you experience that type of freedom....once you go black you WILL NOT go back...and oh yeah...that goes for me too. HAHA.

Til next time!
